Naré Kim
Korean soprano Naré Kim, acclaimed for her “highly expressive phrasing” and “spectacular voice,” has appeared with MassOpera, Boston Singers’ Resource, Greater Worcester Opera, Cambridge Chamber Ensemble, Boston Opera Collaborative, Opera NEO, San Diego Opera, Seoul Metropolitan Opera, Korea National Opera, etc. Her recent operatic portrayals include Casilda in The Gondoliers, Morgana in Alcina, Sidonie in Armide, Night in The Fairy Queen, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Hanna in Die lustige Witwe, Musetta in La bohème, and Mimì in La bohème. Her performances have been praised for their combination of vocal brilliance and compelling stage presence.
Naré holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Vocal Performance from Seoul National University and was an Apprenticeship Artist with the San Diego Opera’s Young Artist Program. She earned first prize in the La Jolla Symphony Young Artist Competition and second prize in the Virginia Hawk Competition, both in 2018.
